CPR Classical’s SummerFest broadcast concert series looks to Packard Hall in Colorado Springs this Saturday night for highlights from the 2014 Colorado College Summer Music Festival.
Now in its 30th year, the festival welcomes world-class faculty, and 51 gifted young musicians who receive scholarships to study and perform for three weeks. This year’s festival ran June 10-29.
Listen at 7 p.m. Saturday for the following highlights performed by the festival's musicians:
- Sergei Prokofiev: “Overture on Hebrew Themes”
- Claude Debussy: Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp
- Maurice Ravel: Sonata in G Major for Violin and Piano
- Osvaldo Golijov: “Last Round” for Double String Ensemble
- Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 5
