Denver, July 17, 2024 - Colorado Public Radio announced it has chosen Fransen Pittman as the general contractor for its headquarters at 777 Grant Street. Fransen Pittman rounds out a team of Colorado-based companies working on the project that already includes architecture firm Semple Brown and owner’s representative Artaic Group.
“We’re thrilled to be working with a Colorado-based team as we dive further into this exciting project,” said Stewart Vanderwilt, president and CEO of CPR. “Fransen Pittman brings valuable expertise and experience, and we look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together.”
A Colorado-founded and Colorado-based company, Fransen Pittman’s mission is to build structures that positively transform the lives of the people and communities that surround them.
“As longtime fans of CPR, the Fransen Pittman team is honored to be part of such a significant project,” said Ben Coleman, project executive at Fransen Pittman. “Building for the community is our passion, and we see no better advocate for the community than Colorado Public Radio. We can’t wait to begin!”
The selection of a general contractor, which was made following a request for proposal process focused on contractors’ commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, project experience and understanding of CPR, comes after the announcement of architecture firm Semple Brown. The next steps include the design and permitting process and building on initial fundraising efforts. CPR expects to provide further updates, including announcements of donors for this project, when initial designs are ready later this year.
Once complete, the CPR headquarters at 777 Grant will be the hub of CPR’s effort to become Colorado’s home institution for news. The space will be accessible and welcoming to the community, hosting vital conversations, performances from local musicians and other live events.
